The phrase FIVE STAR HEART originated in the visiting locker room of the University of Notre Dame in 2009.

The Five Star Heart Project's Founding Executive Director and former Naval Academy Middle Linebacker Bobby McClarin addressed the Naval Academy Midshipmen football team in a pregame speech in which he proclaimed, "Notre Dame's locker room may be filled with "5-Star recruits" but the brothers in this locker room possess "5-Star hearts." The rest is history as Bobby's alma mater went on to beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 23-21. “FIVE STAR HEART” WAS BORN.

In 2013, 13 kids attended McClarin’s first football clinic. McClarin wanted to provide kids with more than football instruction and a free t-shirt. In 2014, he was the Lehigh Valley’s pioneer in providing kids with a VISION, a vision of promise, as he opted to take a bus load of kids who attended his football clinic to the United States Naval Academy and the University of Maryland for an all-access experience. This was only the beginning. To date, kids have experienced EARNED trips to the United States Naval Academy, the United States Military Academy, the University of Maryland, Pennsylvania State University, the University of Michigan, Clemson University, Old Dominion University, Lafayette College, and the University of Notre Dame. The trips have been highly praised for their invaluable IMPACT by student athletes, parents, coaches, and administration alike as the students are afforded with the opportunity to walk campuses, listen to stories of perseverance by collegiate student athletes and athletic department personnel, and explore their purpose in life. In 2015, Bobby founded The Five Star Heart Project. The Five Star Heart Project was established to influence and energize even a larger population of our society. In 2016, Five Star Heart established the Collegiate Student Athlete Mentorship Program in partnership with Moravian University Athletics, a program designed to inspire middle school youth football players to strive for success on and off the athletic fields and bridge the GAP between those who have chosen the path of GRIT over the PATH of quit and those who must decide.

Today, we stand FIVE STAR HEART STRONG offering 500+ kids from ALL backgrounds with multiple clinics, trips, and invaluable experiences on an annual basis. Our proven Collegiate Student Athlete Mentorship Program continues to show its IMPACT as kids adopt a sense of self pride, learn to EARN everything, embrace a sense of BROTHERHOOD & understanding for their peers, and begin to explore and define their purpose in life.

Our unique, integrated business model is centered around building strong relationships across school districts, universities, corporations/businesses, and other community non-profit organizations. We have high expectations for those respective professionals, coaches, trainers, and student athletes who are called upon to motivate and teach our youth. WE ARE ONE, AND WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.
